4/24/03 - Rippin out the old patio deck

4/27/03 - I had to raise the patio cover

4/27/03 - Kristin couldn't wait to lay out by the pool so we put her on the roof
to get her out of the way. My poor lawn! It used to look nice! :(

4/28/03 - The Big Dig

4/28/03 - The Big Rock

4/28/03 - Wait till tomorrow to bring in the Big Hammer. If that doesn't work,
then comes the Big Dynamite!

4/29/03 - The Big Hammer.

4/29/03 - The Big Hole. Ready for steel!

4/29/03 - Dad...Can't we make it just a little bit deeper?

4/30/03 - The Steel is in and we are waiting for the plumber. Forcast is for rain...
maybe we can swim sooner than we thought. :-)

5/03/03 - Rain delays :-(

5/11/03 - More @!&*%$#! rocks! Arg...right where the gas line needs to go :-(

5/11/03 - It would have been easier to just call George Bush and order up some
of those smart bombs! This is just the drains, irrigation and electric for around the
pool before the actual pool plumber gets here. Not to mention the gas line that
I still need to put in.

5/24/03 - Finally done with all of my underground. The gas line is in and
inspected. I'm ready for backfill. Now the pool plumbers can come and finish
their underground. Then we'll get to start building up instead of down for a change!!

5/26/03 - Had to layout all of the pipes that I put in so the pool guys don't
tear them up!

5/26/03 - Also had to cover my fine grade material so they don't just dump regular
dirt on top. They don't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed! They already did
it once.

6/01/03 -The plumbers are done and we should have Gunite by the end of the week.

6/01/03 - The plumber did a good job except they helped them selves to everything
I left out. The last I saw my 50' extension cord it was plugged into their radio and now
it's gone. Animals...they left trash and food scraps laying all around. Slobs!
Too many glue fumes I guess!

6/05/03 - Gunite Day (Shotcrete actually). Yea Hoo!!!! These guys did a great job!
Oh Yea...The plumber brought my extension cord back today. I guess it helps
to complain!

6/05/03 - Looks kinda like a pool now. Need to get the electrician
in for his underground and then all the backfill can be done. Then coping and
tile and I can finally start pouring the deck.

6/28/03 - Almost done with rough grade and still waiting for the coping and tile to be done

6/28/03 - Almost done with rough grade and still waiting for the coping and tile to be done

6/28/03 - Almost done with rough grade and still waiting for the coping and tile to be done

7/21/03 - Finally we get to pour!

7/21/03 - This is the first pour. About 1700 square feet.

7/21/03 - Here the finishers are laying down the rotory broom finish.

7/21/03 - Here you can see the rotory broom finish.

7/21/03 - The colored concrete looks like chocolate. It gets much lighter as it dries.
The next pour will be real soon and then maybe we can actually swim before
the end of summer!

7/31/03 - The last pour! Yea Hoo! Supervisor John and The big Kahuna (Jackie)
watching over things.

7/31/03 - What a great feeling to see all of the concrete done!

7/31/03 - A view of the new patio slab. Can't wait to get the rock work done on
the planters and the piers for the posts!

8/11/03 - Plastering the pool. Actually it's 3M Color Quartz.

8/11/03 - They mix it right on the truck and dump it right into the pump.

8/11/03 - FILLING THE POOL........Yea Hooooooo!

8/13/03 - The first swim. But Dad, do you have to take pictures?

8/13/03 - Enough with the pictures Dad!

8/13/03 - All of that supervising has wore Jackie out.
